Well, I'm the literal worst at keeping this up to date, clearly that summer bucket list mentioned two months ago isn't gonna cross itself off. I need to get my shit together.

Summer Bucket List

I'm starting to get really restless for consistent warm weather. You know, those perfect mornings that seem to last all afternoon and you just want to spend the day outside? Cab in hand, obv.

We got a small taste this past weekend and I really wasn't ready for the snow and rain today. Luckily, I'm off to fl this week to see my amazing friends and family, and hopefully be greeted with perfectly warm weather.

Is it weird I miss that feeling of a sunburn and salt in my hair? I think it's the best feeling in the world when my freckles pop up across my nose and my hair gets just a little blonder...for free. 

The Optimist's List

It's pretty crazy to see how optimistic people are here in Chicago.

After a hell of a winter, and still with not much end in sight, everyone I meet is so optimistic for the summer, they all tell me I won't believe how amazing it is. I'm holding my breath, but the beach bum in me is getting restless.

Chi-rish

There are few things I know about Chicago. They are as follow:

1. It is cold 95% of the time, and the wind is the worst, but when it is over, for the very very short time it is over, the summers are EPIC. Full disclosure, I don't actually know this, I haven't been here in the summer. But I take everyone's word for it.

2. Oprah

3. It's a grid- I'm slowly learning this.

4. The food. Oh the food.

5. St. Patrick's Day here is the most epic of all St. Patrick's Days.

I am going to focus on #5 in this post. I will keep you all posted on the others. I'm going to bet I'll never meet Oprah so that's just a fun fact for now.

Well, shit. If I waited until I was 100% ready to do anything, I'd barely make it past opening a bottle of wine, because I'm like...today's the day I'm going to start my diet, just kidding, I'll have a glass of wine. Today's the day I'm going to stop eating dairy. Amelia, who are you kidding you have to finish your wine from last night, or else it will go bad- and what goes better with wine than cheese? Wine wins. Wine always wins...so I've compromised and I'm having some vino while writing this.
